We are the European Marine Science Educators Association (EMSEA).
EMSEA is a network of marine (science) educators acting as one voice across Europe and beyond.
Our Vision
Our shared vision is a society of ocean literate citizens who recognise the vital importance of the ocean, working together to ensure it is sustained for future generations.
Our Mission
Our mission is to act as a hub for the European marine education community to promote and deliver ocean literacy across society by working with scientists, teachers, policy makers and the public.
What do we do?
EMSEA is a membership organisation, representing academia, researchers, NGO's, compagnies, formal (schools) and informal (science) education institutes, engaged to increase ocean literacy in society.
As experts in blue schools and blue education, we help to develop training, curricula, share messages with the learning community, and capacity building.
We support our members by sharing good practices and training opportunities through our annual international networking conferences.
We work on grant funded projects, ensuring our members can benefit from this work. We also organise events within our EMSEA regional groups and provide ways for the network to connect through digital platforms.
EMSEA offers dissemination, public presentations on marine topics and education consulting services.
