Fiona Crouch

EMSEA Avisory Board - Past President 2012-2018

Fiona has a life-long passion for the ocean. She is a qualified SCUBA PADI Divemaster with over 30 years’ experience which she has used to further conservation efforts across the globe, undertaking underwater surveys in the UK, New Zealand, Australia, Asia and Tristan da Cunha. She is an accomplished underwater photography with her images used on a number of websites and in publications.

She has worked in marine conservation, education and outreach for over 20 years and currently works for Natural England UK. She was previously based at Marine Biological Association in Plymouth, UK,  where she managed the three year European Union Horizon 2020 funded Sea Change project. Fiona also coordinated the Shore Thing citizen project working with students, community groups and policy makers. She is a council member of the Porcupine Marine Natural History Society. As past President of EMSEA she organised the inaugural EMSEA conference in Plymouth in 2011 and worked closely with transatlantic partners to develop ocean literacy in Europe and across the globe.
