EMSEA 2017 conference, Valetta, Malta

 

EMSEA 2017 took place in the heart of the Mediterranean, in the European capital of culture, Valetta and was organized by our host Prof. Alan Deidun from the University of Malta, Department of Geosciences, Faculty of Science and Prof. Paul J. Pace, Department of Mathematics and Science Education, Faculty of Education, University of Malta.

 

The conference was held back-to-back with the 'Our Oceans' Conference, 5-6 October 2017. 

 

Oral presentations were on the following themes: 

  • -Promoting a further penetration of Ocean Literacy in School Curricula: challenges and opportunities; 

  • -The digital age of Ocean Literacy; 

  • -Oceans and Human Health; 

  • -Future scenarios and roles for Ocean Literacy 

 

Side event: 

A teachers’ seminar was held, showcasing Ocean Literacy School Curricula Initiatives, on Saturday, 7 October 2017 at the Malta National Aquarium, main sponsor of the event.
